REBT stands for Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy. It was created by Albert Ellis, a renowned author and psychiatrist. This therapy allows clients to discover practical and immediate ways of gaining control over their destructive thoughts and actions. Clients become more aware of their inner thoughts that keep them from reaching their goals. REBT gives them tools to live by for the rest of their lives. REBT can be used for those who suffer from the most debilitating mental illnesses as well as those who are experiencing life changes.
Clients have told me that this therapy has been very useful to them in that it actually provided them with tools to use when they were confronted with situations that otherwise would have caused them a lot of needless pain. They said that because of REBT they had a much more positive outlook for the future.
